| when one of your best friends moves to texas |

First, I cried. Then I drove home to few mopey 'what do I do without you' songs. I told my boyfriend and my mom. I felt like I was going through a break-up. That heart-t0-the-floor kind of feeling. I wanted to buy myself a violin and continue weeping until the world felt bad for me and Texas went away and Caroline stayed.

I quickly turned myself around because, well, I don't look so good after a cry. It was time to wash my face, put on a little mascara and start planning my next trip to Texas.

But, really. This chick. She's somethin' else. I'm pretty much the luckiest lady in San Francisco to have made a friend like Caroline. She's moving home now, leaving me with a greater appreciation for the word "y'all", taste in sauvignon blanc, a country music playlist a la Spotify, and the most beautiful, mirrored bedside table lamp.

Not only is she tan year-round, but she's also smart, adventurous, caring as all hell, and a loyal friend. Today she's left for Texas where she will spend some time focussing on herself. And calling me.

Missing you already, my sweet Caroline.

Xo,
Sam

“Even though we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends.”
